Knitting 101: Let's Make a Scarf

This 3-week knitting course will teach you the knit stitch, which we will use to make a garter stitch scarf. We will use straight needles to cast on stitches, knit and bind off. We will also learn how to finish our scarf with fringe!
Eat your heart out grown ups, because this class is only open to ages 8-12 years old.
Purchase before the start of class:
- 1 hank of Malabrigo Rios and US 8 straight knitting needles* OR
- 1 hank of Malabrigo Vientos and US 10 straight knitting needles*
Skills learned will be:
- How to Cast on
- How to complete the knit stitch
- How to bind off
- How to weave in ends
- How to make fringe
*Materials must be bought at The Craftivist. Students will receive a 10% discount on the cost of class supplies.
Class Policies: Payment guarantees your spot in the class. Payment may be made in the store, over the phone, or through our website. Unless noted, supplies are not included in the class fee. Yarn must be purchased at The Craftivist. Students receive a 10% discount on materials purchased for the class.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel your registration, store credit will be given for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the beginning of a class; no refunds will be given if the cancellation is less than 7 days. Refunds are not given for missed classes.
If we do not fill our class minimum the class will be cancelled and students will be issued a full refund. We will notify students of class cancellations at least 24 hours before the first class.
