This class will be taught in person and is limited to six students. Students must be fully vaccinated by the start of class. Proof of vaccination is required to register for the class. All classes are held before or after shop hours, and masks are required.

Introduction to Crochet Colorwork: Illumination Cowl

Would you love to steep yourself in colorwork confidence and let your creativity soar to new levels?! Well, this class centered around stranded colorwork + tapestry crochet colorwork will supply you with all of the fundamental skills, tips, and tricks to create a polished project with these techniques.

Vincent will guide you along this fun, color filled journey of his Illumination Cowl - Crochet Colorwork Pattern. Not only will you walk away from class with a wider world of creativity, but you'll also have the opportunity to learn how to read charts, how to transition between colors, when and why to catch floats, tips for creating dynamic color combinations, and efficient yarn management techniques!

Experience Level: Adventurous Beginner - Intermediate Crochet

Skill Prerequisites: Students with a basic understanding of crochet (chain and single crochet) skills will be ready to dive into the techniques and skills taught. Students with experience in only one craft are still welcome!

Purchase before the start of class:

  • Illumination Cowl patternfrom Visuvios Crafts
  • Worsted/DK yarn (such as Malabrigo Rios) - 270 yards in MC and 170 yards in CC
  • US I-9/ 5.5mm crochet hook

You will also need a row counter (optional) tapestry needle, and scissors

Materials for the class must be bought at The Craftivist. Students will receive a 10% discount on the cost of supplies for the class.
