Join us for our Cocoknits KAL starting May 13th ⭐

Host: Jennifer Hallan

This KAL will take place in person over six sessions on Monday nights from 6:00 - 8:00 pm starting in May 13th!

Together we will make the Emma (Version A or B). This pattern is exclusively available through the Cocoknits Sweater Workshop book, and is a great first Cocoknits Method pattern to try. But if you've already tried the Cocoknits Method and want something a little more challenging, we'd love to have you join us too. Feel free to add cables, stitch patterns, colorwork, whatever you need to make it a fun knit for you!

Please note: This is not an opportunity to learn to knit or make a sweater for the first time. Check out our classes for our Introduction to Knitting and First Sweater classes.

Mark your calendars:

May 13, 20, June 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm (skipping May 27)

FAQ

Are there prerequisties for the KAL?

Yes! Participants should have knit a sweater before, but it doesn't not have to have been a Cocoknits sweater.

What is the Cocoknits Method?

The Cocoknits Method was developed by Julie Weisenberger. It is a top-down knitting method that incorporates increases at specific intervals to create 3 dimensional shaping that doesn’t require seaming when you’re done. The neck, shoulders, and yoke are created together, so the shaping is softly sloped to hug the body in a flattering way, rather than squared pieces sewn together which turn out too boxy.

Who should try the Cocoknits Method?

If you've successfully knit a sweater, but have felt like it never fits you the way you want it to, you should definitely try the Cocoknits Method!

What do I get for the registration fee?

The registration fee covers access to all six gatherings, and assistance from Jennifer at those gatherings.

Who is Julie Weisenberger?

Julie learned to knit in Europe and ran a small sweater company that sold to boutiques across the United States. Now her main focus is on designing for hand-knitters of all shapes and sizes using many of the techniques she learned in Europe and the ready-to-wear industry.

Julie has perfected the top-down, seamless method using English tailoring, which creates a flattering and perfectly fitted set-in sleeve sweater. Her simple silhouettes combined with fine yarns result in elegant, wearable designs for knitters of all abilities. In addition to designing, she develops knitting tools based on real-life experience—designed for knitters by a knitter.

This event takes place in person and masks are now optional. If community transmission rises we may encourage or require masks for the safety of our students and staff. Please stay home if you are feeling sick! Thanks for your support and for helping to keep our community safe.

Class Policies: Payment guarantees your spot in the class. Payment may be made in the store, over the phone, or through our website. Unless noted, supplies are not included in the class fee. Yarn must be purchased at The Craftivist. Students receive a 10% discount on materials purchased for the class.

Cancellations: If you need to cancel your registration, store credit will be given for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the beginning of a class; no refunds will be given if the cancellation is less than 7 days. Refunds are not given for missed classes.

If we do not fill our class minimum the class will be cancelled and students will be issued a full refund. We will notify students of class cancellations at least 24 hours before the first class.
