Cardigan Sweater Class: Champagne Cardigan

This is a guided KAL (knit-a-long) — part class, part KAL, all fun! This KAL will take place in person over eight sessions on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm starting February 10th!

Together we will make the Champagne Cardigan by Petite Knit. This is a stylish and cozy sweater that's constructed with a beautifully seamless design and applied double knit button band. Vincent will help you knit a cardigan that fits your body, using your gauge, body measurements, and personal sweater preferences.

PATTERN

Champagne Cardigan by Petite Knit

YARN*

1203 - 1772 yards of worsted weight yarn (or 1 strand of DK weight yarn + 1 strand of lace weight yarn held together)

KNITTING NEEDLES

• 4.5 mm [US7] / in 16, 24 and 32 or 40 inches (Vincent would use the 16" circular needle for knitting sleeves in the round, 24" for the yoke, 32" for the yoke & torso, and the 40" for magic loop technique in the sleeves)
• 3 mm [US2½] / 100 cm [40 inches]

Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

NOTIONS

• Measuring tape or EZ Gauge Ruler
• Stitch markers
• Purl Strings OR 2 sets of interchangeable knitting needle cables + end stoppers to hold sleeve stitches
• tapestry needle for weaving in ends. 

HOMEWORK TO COMPLETE BEFORE THE FIRST CLASS SESSION

Using the US 7 knitting needle, knit a 5"x5" or 6"x6" gauge swatch in stockinette stitch, worked flat and wet block the swatch. The first class will contain education time about gauge, fit, and sizing among many other sweater knitting topics.

Are there prerequisites for the KAL?

Yes! The skills required for this advanced beginner class/kal are basic pattern reading, long tail cast on, knit, purl. We will teach you everything else!

What do I get for the registration fee?

The registration fee covers access to all eight gatherings, and assistance from Vincent at those gatherings.

Class Policies: Payment guarantees your spot in the class. Payment may be made in the store, over the phone, or through our website. Unless noted, supplies are not included in the class fee. Yarn must be purchased at The Craftivist. Students receive a 10% discount on materials purchased for the class. 

Cancellations: If you need to cancel your registration, store credit will be given for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the beginning of a class; no refunds will be given if the cancellation is less than 7 days. Refunds are not given for missed classes.

If we do not fill our class minimum the class will be cancelled and students will be issued a full refund. We will notify students of class cancellations at least 24 hours before the first class.
