First Sweater Class

In our First Sweater class, we will knit a toddler sized top down raglan sweater, and learn magic loop in the process!

Required skills: Advanced beginner. Pattern reading, casting on, knitting, purling, binding off. We will teach you everything else!

Purchase before the start of class: Flax pattern by Tin Can Knits (free!), 2 hanks of Malabrigo Rios, size US 6 and US 8 16” and 32" circular needles, at least 6 stitch markers, purl strings, and a tapestry needle. The Flax sweater pattern accommodates all sizes; for this class we will knit the 6-12 month sized sweater.

Knit before the start of class: Cast on 62 stitches, place beginning of round marker and join for knitting in the round. Establish 1 x 1 ribbing: (k1, p1) around. Knit until work measures 1". This is following the Flax pattern for the 6-12 month size, option 1.

Materials for the class must be purchased at The Craftivist. Students receive a 10% discount on the cost of supplies for the class.

Class Policies: Payment guarantees your spot in the class. Payment may be made in the store, over the phone, or through our website. Unless noted, supplies are not included in the class fee. Yarn must be purchased at The Craftivist. Students receive a 10% discount on materials purchased for the class. 

Cancellations: If you need to cancel your registration, store credit will be given for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the beginning of a class; no refunds will be given if the cancellation is less than 7 days. Refunds are not given for missed classes.

If we do not fill our class minimum the class will be cancelled and students will be issued a full refund. We will notify students of class cancellations at least 24 hours before the first class.
