Introduction to Knitting: Epic Journey Cowl

This class is great for enthusiastic knitters just starting out, as well as those looking for a refresher on their skills.

Receive step-by-step guidance on knitting a cowl (or “neck warmer”) in this four-part class.

Techniques You’ll Explore

  • Casting on and binding off
  • Knitting and purling
  • Knitting flat and in the round
  • Reading knitting patterns, including common abbreviations
  • Changing from one yarn color to another
  • Seaming
  • Picking up stitches
  • Weaving in ends
  • Measuring gauge
  • Blocking
  • … and more!

Time Commitment
Plan to knit for about 20-40 minutes a day to complete the project by the end of the class.

Materials Needed

Materials for the class must be bought at The Craftivist. Students will receive a 10% discount on the cost of supplies for the class.

This class will be taught in person and masks are now optional. If community transmission rises we may encourage or require masks for the safety of our students and staff. Please stay home if you are feeling sick! Thanks for your support and for helping to keep our community safe.

Class Policies: Payment guarantees your spot in the class. Payment may be made in the store, over the phone, or through our website. Unless noted, supplies are not included in the class fee. Yarn must be purchased at The Craftivist. Students receive a 10% discount on materials purchased for the class. 

Cancellations: If you need to cancel your registration, store credit will be given for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the beginning of a class; no refunds will be given if the cancellation is less than 7 days. Refunds are not given for missed classes.

If we do not fill our class minimum the class will be cancelled and students will be issued a full refund. We will notify students of class cancellations at least 24 hours before the first class.
