Tunisian Crochet 101: The Nightfall Cowl

Add a fashionable layer of warmth and texture to your wardrobe and learn a new fiber arts technique! Students will learn the tools and basic techniques of Tunisian Crochet including basic Tunisian crochet stitches, increasing, reading a Tunisian crochet pattern, and finishing techniques. Students will crochet the Nightfall Cowl by Toni Lipsey of @TLYarnCrafts together and have a completed cowl by the end of the course! This course is suitable for intermediate crocheters wanting to learn a new technique.
Prerequisites:
- Confidence in reading crochet patterns.
- Suitable for intermediate level crocheters OR
- Anyone who has completed any of our Intermediate crochet classes: First Crochet Sweater or Intermediate Crochet: Free Yourself Shawl
Materials required for the class:
- Nightfall Cowl by Toni Lipsey (Purchase before the start of class, and bring a printed copy with you for note taking purposes)
- 2 contrasting colors of DK weight yarn totaling 400 yards (suggested yarns: Emma’s Yarn Drapey DK, Emma’s Yarn Spectacular DK, Malabrigo Arroyo, Illimani Santi, Jake 77 DK, A Knitter’s Homestead DK, or Ryan Yarn Plump DK)
- 1 - 6.5mm Tunisian Crochet hook
- 1 - 24” Tunisian crochet cord (Lykke Interchangeable cords for 5” IC tips coordinate with the Lykke Tunisian crochet hooks)
- Removable stitch markers
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
- Blocking mat
- T-pins or sewing pins

Class Policies: Payment guarantees your spot in the class. Payment may be made in the store, over the phone, or through our website. Unless noted, supplies are not included in the class fee. Yarn must be purchased at The Craftivist. Students receive a 10% discount on materials purchased for the class.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel your registration, store credit will be given for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the beginning of a class; no refunds will be given if the cancellation is less than 7 days. Refunds are not given for missed classes.
If we do not fill our class minimum the class will be cancelled and students will be issued a full refund. We will notify students of class cancellations at least 24 hours before the first class.
