

First Sweater Class
Instructor: Hannah Peck
This class will be taught in person and is limited to six students. Students must be fully vaccinated by the start of class. Proof of registration is required to register for the class; masks are required.
In our First Sweater class, we will knit a toddler sized top down raglan sweater, and learn magic loop in the process!
Required skills: Advanced beginner. Pattern reading, casting on, knitting, purling, binding off. We will teach you everything else!
Purchase before the start of class: Flax pattern by Tin Can Knits (free!), 2 hanks of Malabrigo Rios, size US 6 and US 8 16” and 32" circular needles, at least 6 stitch markers, and a tapestry needle. The Flax sweater pattern accommodates all sizes; for this class we will knit the 6-12 month sized sweater.
Materials for the class must be purchased at The Craftivist. Students receive a 10% discount on the cost of supplies for the class.
Complete before the first class:
Buy your materials (anyone at the shop can help), download your pattern, and
follow the first two paragraphs of the “yoke”. You should complete 1” of ribbing in
the smaller needle size.

Homework: Knit body
Week 3: Picking up stitches for sleeves, magic loop
