Fading Point is constructed from both ends towards the centre, and then both pieces are connected with triangles to achieve a seamless rectangle. The instructions are WRITTEN AND CHARTED.
MATERIALS Yarn: 5 skeins of fingering weight yarn in 5 different colors in a Fade or Gradient combination. You need approx. 400yd/365m each of all 5 colors.
Needles: 2 sets of US 5 (3.75 mm) circular or straight needle. If you are using circulars, 24”-32” are good lengths, but choose any length you are comfortable with. Other notions: Stitch markers, stitch holders, waste yarn or an extra cable, tapestry needle, blocking pins or wires.
GAUGE Your working gauge should be 22 sts and 44 rows. BUT your finished (pinned, stretched and blocked out) gauge should be 20 sts and 40 rows. Both gauges are given to 4” (10 cm) on US 5 (3.75 mm) needles in Garter st.
